Mick and Michelle Talty have been running Edinglassie as a commercial stud farm for the past 20 years. Mick being a resident at Edinglassie for 27 years, 7 of those years gaining invaluable knowledge of the farm & horses from well known horseman Sid Anderson.
After meeting at Glenormiston Agricultural College both Mick and Michelle gained overseas experience in Ireland, England, America and locally in the Hunter Valley.
Mick gained his thoroughbred grounding at Widden Stud before time working with leading bloodstock auctioneer companies William Inglis and Tattersalls. Returning to the Hunter Valley Mick spent time managing a small private farm before moving to Edinglassie Stud.
Michelle started her thoroughbred career under the guidance of Peter Orton at Middlebrook Park before, gaining international experience working at Airlie Stud (Ireland), Lanwades Stud (Newmarket) and Lanes End (Kentucky). Returning to the Hunter Valley, Michelle attained valuable experience as veterinary assistant to Dr Phil Redman, progressing to yearling manager at Turungga Stud. It was a natural move to Arrowfield yearling manager and reuniting with Peter Orton, upon the purchase of Turungga yearling farm by Arrowfield Stud
Now Mick & Michelle work side by side, complementing each others skill sets running Edinglassie Thoroughbred Stud.
