About our Heritage

Edinglassie stud is steeped in Australian pioneering heritage. It was the initial settlement of the White family when they came to the Hunter Valley over 150 years ago. In recent decades it was the property where the Oatley family chose to establish Rosemount Wines. It is now a successful thoroughbred farm resting on the banks of the Hunter River, perfectly positioned between the major studs of the area.

Edinglassie's access to the Hunter River provides 500 acres of fertile irrigated pastures with both undulating hills for young stock and gentle lucerne flats for your mares and foals. Mares and young stock are catered for with clean healthy pastures and spacious safe grazing.

We can offer you a full range of services to ensure your Thoroughbreds receive the highest level of care. These services include agistment for your mares and progeny, plus excellent foaling facilities, and Hospital with 24 hour attention. The Stud is equipped with modern Yearling Preparation facilities, including walking machine, round yard and day yards.

Edinglassie Stud is situated in the heart of the picturesque Hunter Valley Australia's Horse Capital and only two and a half hours drive from the North of Sydney. It is in close proximity to all leading Hunter Valley Studs and Veterinarian services, which enables us to provide an excellent walk on service and healthy care for all your horses needs.
